The food manufacturer Easyfood, which so far primarily has been known for its bread convenience products, is now launching a range of chilled and frozen dinner and meat products. The new products will be marketed under the Gourmet Express brand. The concept will be presented at the food conference Food Expo in Herning, Denmark, from 19 to 22 March.
Would you care for a steak with onions, potatoes and gravy? Would you rather enjoy meatloaf with potatoes and gravy? Or do you prefer salmon with chilli/lime sauce and potatoes?
In all circumstances you now only have to look in one place to find all of the above dinner courses. Together with 20 other chilled or frozen dinner courses, they constitute the new Gourmet Express range of dinner courses from Easyfood that are to be presented at Food Expo in Herning in mid-March.
So far, Easyfood has primarily enjoyed great success with producing bake-off and thaw & serve products within the bread market for, amongst others, catering, canteens and petrol stations. But now the company is expanding its activities to include a much wider part of the convenience market – an aim which is well in tune with the acquisition of the company Whizzo this Autumn, which markets sticks with everything from fish to meat combined with salads.
“We want to be the preferred partner within the convenience area and it is therefore only natural for us to expand our range of meal solutions. We have spent a lot of time ensuring that we live up to our usual high quality standards and this also means that we have increased our product development and quality assurance within this area,” says Flemming Paasch, Managing Director, Easyfood.
The new dinner courses and meat products are marketed both under our own logo at Dansk Supermarked and as large batches for catering and canteens. At the same time, the company sees a market for supplying ready-made dinner courses for, e.g., petrol stations and institutions that request high-quality food without having to spend to much time on preparing it.
At the conference in Herning, Easyfood will also present a number of new products in its bread range. These include a new Foccacia bread with topping and a chicken/curry snail. In the sandwich department, the focus is on the ‘old’ cereals with, e.g., spelt, and you can also enjoy the different sweet and spicy flavour of piquant Peppadew peppers.
Finally, Easyfood offers, as a novelty, two new types of scones, and the company’s popular cinnamon snail now comes in single packs, ready for serving for any occasion.
